Mission

Transform a panoramic PC enclosure into a commissioned Y2K Game Boy case mod for Flow UP PC without sacrificing hardware visibility or airflow.

Mission report

Y2K Game Boy began with a white panoramic donor chassis whose broad glass surfaces offered enough room to reproduce a handheld-console interface at PC scale. MP-Customized mapped the screen opening, D-pad, A and B buttons, Select and Start controls directly onto a new translucent side assembly, then added rows of square vents as a pixel-like lower border. Custom-fabricated control pieces introduce real depth instead of relying on printed graphics alone. A smaller transparent Game Boy silhouette was mounted over the rear fan, extending the theme into the hardware chamber without blocking its airflow. The opposite side received a perspective-grid “LOADING...” graphic and Flow UP PC attribution, while RGB lighting travels through the clear edges and shifts the white structure through blue, purple, pink and green. The archive records the original donor case, CAD layout, fabricated controls, illuminated details and completed commissioned enclosure. This is a commissioned fan-theme mod and is not presented as an official Nintendo collaboration.

01 · Briefing

The assignment

Flow UP PC commissioned a case transformation with an unmistakable Y2K gaming identity. The familiar controls had to become part of the enclosure itself while the panoramic hardware view, airflow and service access remained usable.

02 · Execution

Built as one idea

MP-Customized designed a translucent side assembly with a screen-shaped hardware opening, raised D-pad, A, B, Select and Start controls, pixel-grid ventilation and a matching Game Boy fan detail. Layered acrylic, custom-cut parts and RGB edge lighting give the white donor chassis the colour and depth of early-2000s translucent electronics.

03 · Outcome

Made to be seen

The completed 2026 commission turns the panoramic white case into a full-scale Game Boy reference, with readable controls, animated colour across the transparent surfaces and Flow UP PC branding integrated into the opposite window.
